Antonio Ríos Rosas was born in Ronda on March 16, 1812 and died in Madrid on November 3, 1873.
He attended the University of Granada, where he obtained a law degree ; After his studies he devoted himself to the world of politics , becoming a member of the tribunals of the province of Malaga in 1836 .
He was a key figure during the reigns of Queen Maria Cristina and during the reign of Isabel II (during which he was appointed a member of the Council of the Crown).
After several innovations in his character, we can say that his "democratic modernist" character stands out in a special way. During his political life he undertook major undertakings such as:
- He was entrusted with drafting the by-law to make the restored 1845 constitution more liberal .
- He was Minister of the Interior from July to October 1856.
- joined the Royal Academy of Jurists and Legislators in 1852.
- Ambassador to the Holy See , where he collaborated on the 1851 Concordat.
- Elected President of the House of Representatives in 1863.
- President of the Ateneo de Madrid
- President of the Council of State during the democratic sexenio.
