Bust of Cardinal Bueno Monreal - Jerez de la Frontera - Andalusia

The bust has a realistic character. The life-size figure faces the cathedral, in a redoubt built into a corner of the front stairway with two-tone cobblestones and metal railings.

Cardinal Bueno Monreal was well loved in the religious circles of Jerez and Seville for his contribution to the most diverse aspects , and this simple image of him has garnered widespread recognition in the city.

It was Cardinal Bueno Monreal who consecrated the church on December 10, 1978, 200 years after the consecration of the collegiate church and the promulgation of the bull that constituted the diocese and made the church a cathedral.

This event, of little importance to the public, is reflected in this monument of gratitude to the cardinal who attended the religious event.
