Fernando Fernández Monje "Terremoto" was born near Santiago in 1934 and belonged to a family related to Juanichi El Manijero, Tío Parrilla and Tía Juana la del Pipa.
From a young age he danced in the tabanques of Jerez accompanied by Romerito, with whom he danced, as he said, "vueltecitas por bulerías". Interestingly, he made his debut as a dancer at the Villamarta Theater in the late 1940s. It was not until 1956 that he decided to devote himself to singing. Juan de la Plata said of "Terremoto" that "the world is too small for his Dionysian cry ".
In 1963 Manolo Caracol engaged him for his tablao "Los Canasteros". Ángel Álvarez Caballero wrote in his obituary: “Certainly the best gypsy singer of Jerez, after Manuel Torre. Some saw in him the successor of Mairena (...) when he really sang as he could, he found the song from Jerez, without a doubt, his most brilliant interpreter, with Duende and Engel, with a broken voice but full of musicality, Cantaora, with echoes of ancestral wisdom that bathed".
