Palacio de los Marqueses de Benameji - Cordoba

The Palace of the Marquis of Benamejí is the headquarters of "drawing" as the College of Arts and Crafts was popularly known.

Its construction dates back to the 18th century and currently incorporates several architectural styles. In 1874 it was reformed by Rafael de Luque and the facade was rebuilt. The facade has nine balconies each decorated with a precious garland, eight windows and the main entrance, which is surmounted by the coat of arms of the Marquises. A lantern hung from the metal structure.

The interior is beautiful and very well decorated, although there is not a single piece of art worthy of mention.

In the garage is the carriage with which Queen Elizabeth II entered Córdoba in 1862 .

The property has three patios plus a beautiful garden . The courtyard is decorated with several amphoras of which the school has an interesting collection. On the left is the main or noble staircase. The staircase is made of microtic limestone and has a beautiful Mudejar ceiling . This patio is very pretty with a leafy tree in each corner, potted plants and a central fountain.

Then there is the manicured garden with pond pool and the orchard with orange and mandarin trees, a majestic Himalayan cedar at least fifteen meters high and estimated to be about two hundred years old, and other types of plants.
