Nao Victoria Museum and Replica - Seville

The Nao Victoria 500 is moored in the docks of Paseo Marqués de Contadero.

The Interpretation Center on this maritime feat, promoted by the Nao Victoria Foundation in collaboration with the City Council of Seville and the Regional Government of Andalusia, opened its doors in 2019 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the departure of the expedition of Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastian Elcano.

Eighteen months of work went into building this new replica . A multidisciplinary team of more than 60 people participated, including historians, naval engineers, shipwrights and craftsmen from the provinces of Seville and Huelva, who gave their best to make this Nao Victoria 500 a true jewel of shipbuilding.

The visitor to the interpretation center will learn about the first circumnavigation of the planet, carried out by the captains Magellan and Elcano, narrated by the voice of the most important ship: the Nao Victoria, which in this way becomes the narrator of her history: From her birth , through the construction and preparations for the expedition, and then finally arrive at the immensity of the journey made, as well as the events that the crew experienced, in addition to the dangers they encountered and the obvious harshness of life on board. The visit ends on board the Nao Victoria 500.
