The Lizarrieta border pass, shared between Sare and Etxalar at an altitude of 441 m, is a unique place where a common culture, scientific observation of migratory species and the age-old tradition of hunting pigeons with nets are combined. This very popular place has been recently developed by reorganizing the parking while preserving the natural site. Two trails allow you to discover the history of the pass: the dove hunt, a 9 km loop of 2h30, including 7 illustrative markers; the forest and the mines, a 2.9 km round trip of 1h15 including 8 markers.
For the youngest, a 45 mn round trip around an imaginary tale by Koldo Amestoy has been created and an application "Lizarrieta Adventures" for families/friends
Catering possible on site. Exceptional panoramic view in good weather.
