Beautiful walk from the caves of Nerja to the Barranco and the Aqueduct

Routing Walk - shortest

The walk starts at the Cueva de Nerja. Parking just before the entrance of the caves on the left side of the road. Via the paved walkway over the highway, the walk descends towards Maro. The walking path continues along the N-340. On a viaduct, the Acueducto can be seen, shortly the walk will pass by it. After the second roundabout, there is a turn to the left. Just before the bridge, you will find an unpaved path on the left. At the sharp bend, you can continue straight towards the Acueducto. Return to the sharp bend, the path goes towards the sea almost on the riverbed, so quite a bit of vegetation. A bit further, you sometimes have to bend down to get under the bent bamboo. Almost at the end by the sea, the path becomes very muddy (depending on the amount of water) and you have to bend down even more to continue.

The beach contains many pebbles and rocks.

On the return trip, the walk now goes over the bridge over the river, Barranco de Maro. From here, the road is paved again until the parking area.
