GR-92. Stage 31. Amposta-Pont de l'Oliva (Ulldecona)

Stage 31 of the GR-92, which runs from Amposta to the Pont de l'Oliva in Ulldecona, presents itself as a challenging route of 25.1 kilometers, with a total elevation gain of 713 meters. This section is situated in the beautiful region of the Delta del Ebro, a unique ecosystem that hosts rich biodiversity and characteristic wetland landscapes. Along the route, hikers will have the opportunity to explore the natural environment of the delta, where rice paddies intertwine with canals and lagoons, creating a picturesque landscape. This journey not only offers panoramic views of nature but also allows for the discovery of the history and culture of the area. During the trip, two buildings of historical interest can be observed. The first is the Habitatge on Carrer Francesc Sans Borja, an example of local architecture that reflects the daily life of its inhabitants. The second, the Habitatge on Carrer de l'Estació, also represents a significant aspect of the region's architectural heritage. Both houses stand as witnesses to the urban development of Amposta and its importance in the history of the Delta del Ebro. The difficulty of this stage is high, making it a challenge for experienced hikers. However, the reward of traversing this natural and cultural landscape makes the effort worthwhile. Upon finishing the stage at the Pont de l'Oliva, walkers can enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings, as well as the beauty of the Ebro River flowing majestically through the region.
