GR-100. Stage 05. Mieres-Carabanzo

Stage 05 of the GR-100, which connects Mieres with Carabanzo, is a 9.3-kilometer hiking route of easy difficulty, ideal for those who want to enjoy the natural beauty of the Cantabrian Coast. This path winds through green and tranquil landscapes, where the sound of water accompanies walkers, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere. At the start of the route, in Mieres, hikers can visit the Church of Santa Eulalia de Ujo, a Romanesque temple dating back to the 12th century. This church, located in the parish of Ujo, is a notable example of Asturian religious architecture and offers a glimpse into the rich history of the region. Mieres, the municipality where this stage begins, is divided into two main areas: the central urban core and Cortina - La Estación, separated by the León-Gijón railway line.
