GR-131. Stage 13. Degollada de Guajara-Vilaflor (Tenerife)

Stage 13 of the GR-131, which connects Degollada de Guajara with Vilaflor, is a challenging and enriching experience for hiking enthusiasts. With a length of 11.5 kilometers and an accumulated elevation gain of 1046 meters, this route is located in the heart of Tenerife, offering panoramic views and close contact with nature. The journey begins at Degollada de Guajara, a strategic point that allows you to enjoy the impressive volcanic formations of the Teide National Park. As you progress, the Canary flora surrounds you, with native species that have adapted to the terrain conditions. Upon reaching Vilaflor de Chasna, one of the highest towns in Spain, you can explore the Parish Church of San Pedro Apostol. This church, considered one of the oldest in the south of the island, has its origins in a modest chapel built in 1530 by Pedro Soler and his wife Juana de Padilla.
