Descripció de l'autor

This route starts from the parking lot near Tiguaton. It starts of to the southeast on a gravel road through the lava fields resulting from the Timanfaya eruptions. Interesting structures created by the lava flows can be observed. At the foot of Montana Ortiz the route enters in a large area where the landscape has been destroyed in the past due to mining volcanic rock and ashes. Quarying is most outspoken around Caldera Colorado. The route next climbs the slopes of Montana Los Rodeos and more so Volcan Santa Catalina. The latter has an impressive crater, hence is worthwile climbing from the point where the path passes its most western edge. It is possible to walk around the crater, however, this is rather risky in windy weather conditions. The route returns to the starting point following the foot of Montana Los Rodeos and Montana del Cortijo.
