Serra de Llaberia. Road Cycling Catalonia

CDTE (Costa Daurada / Terres de L'Ebre): Route 2

This is a very demanding route. Riders should manage their energy and effort, to save up for the toughest part of this itinerary, the ascent to the Castell d'Escornalbou. This route explored the Llaberia mountain range, first climbing the Coll de Fatxes from Pratdip. After Tivissa it enters the Priorat wine-making region, crossing the villages of Serra d'Almos, Guiamets, Capçanes, Marça and Torre de Fontaubella, from where the second climb begins: the Colldejou. After a vertiginous descent, the ascent to Castell d'Escornalbou begins, which has many ramps between 12 and 15% gradient. The return to Cambrils is via Riudecanyes and Montbrio, almost exclusively downhill, through pleasant landscape.
