The Ronda De Puente Nuevo in the city of Ronda in the autonomous region of Andalusia in southern Spain is a stone bridge that spans the deep Tajo gorge in Ronda, connecting the river Guadalevín. In certain places, this gorge is 120 meters deep. The bridge is the newest bridge that connects the districts of Mercadillo and La Ciudad of Ronda. The bridge has a height of 98 meters. It is considered the symbol of Ronda and is an important tourist attraction.
Construction started in 1735. In 1740, the still unfinished bridge collapsed, costing the lives of 50 workers. Construction resumed in 1751, and in 1793 the bridge was completed.
