Col de la Colle-Saint-Michel

The Col de la Colle-Saint-Michel is a 1431 m high pass in the French Alps in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department. The summit is located in the village of Colle-Saint-Michel, which gives it its name.

The northern approach begins in the Verdon valley just south of Thorame-Haute at an altitude of about 1100 m. Often in the forest, it climbs with mostly consistent incline to the treeless summit in the village. On the south side, the RD 908 branches off from the N 202 and runs through the valley of Vaïre past the towns of Annot and Le Fugeret. After crossing the river, the road ascends on the western slope and often offers a clear view of the deeply incised valley floor there. The final part of the route usually winds through the forest until reaching the pass.
