Built on the site of a priory church, this new church is in the ogival style, with a high nave and two side aisles. After two centuries of struggle, in 1317 the people of Rothenburg obtained the demolition of their uncomfortable side aisle to replace it with a nave of the same dimensions as the monks': the church thus has two large juxtaposed naves. In 1531, an open portal to the city was built. In 1614, the construction of the huge tower with 3 superimposed floors in the classical order (Doric, Ionic and Corinthian) began to replace the old bell tower. The Revolution and the two World Wars brought their share of mutilations and damages. The restorations carried out by the Historic Monuments will begin as of 1941 and will finish only in 1994.Church opened every day (subject to funerals, marriages) Some Sundays afternoon, musical animation with the presence of an organist Virtual visits with izitravel
