It was here in Hendaye that Hitler met dictator Franco to launch a joint action against the UK. Franco was not in favor. And Hitler did not insist. History would probably have looked completely different if this encounter had happened differently.
Hitler came here with his impressive war train 'Amerika'. He could not go any further than here because his train could not go on the Spanish wider tracks.
