Every visit to the capital deserves a stop at the Louvre. The largest and most famous of Parisian museums offers a panorama of Western art (from the Middle Ages to 1848), ancient Eastern civilizations, Egyptian, Greek, Etruscan, Roman, graphic arts and Islamic arts. From room to room, the former royal palace reveals its splendours: the Mona Lisa, the Raft of the Medusa, the Venus de Milo, the Victory of Samothrace... In all, some 35,000 works to discover or rediscover.
