SITE DES LACS DE LA FOLIE

The Lacs de la Folie site in Contrexéville is 12 hectares of greenery in the heart of the Plaine des Vosges:

? its free, supervised open-air swimming pool, open every afternoon in July & August except Mondays (see the Lacs de la Folie open-air swimming pool facebook page),
(Swimming in the lakes is prohibited)
? for families, lovers and sports enthusiasts, or solo, the tour of the lakes is accessible on foot, by bike, with baby carriage or wheelchair
? it's also the starting point for many marked, shaded trails, including the 6 km Sentier des Lacs in the Parc Thermal de Vittel, accessible on foot or by bike
? pedalos and paddles for hire with Pédal?Eau mentalo
? its "Accrofolie" accrobranche, with courses and zip lines for young and old (children from 1 m), as well as escape games and paintball,
? it's also a fisherman's paradise, where you can fish for carp, trout, tench, roach and gudgeon from the banks only (fishing fee per day and per line, collected on site by the fisherman).

Lake Superior
Created in 1929, this elongated lake is almost 400 metres long and covers an area of 4.5 hectares.
The lower lake
Created in 1960, it is separated from the upper lake only by a dike through which a road passes. The straight, 200-metre-long dam gives it a surface area of 5.5 hectares.
