Châtellerault is crossed by the river Vienne, which divides the city into two parts. The old town of Châtellerault is located on the eastern side. The Pont Henry IV crosses the river. In the past, many weapons were made in Châtellerault, which contributed to the city's considerable growth. Now these arms factories have closed, but their influence can still be seen in the city, for example, through the large number of firearms on display in the Muséé Sullu. Additionally, you will find the Saint-Jean Baptiste church and the Saint-Jacques church in Châtellerault.
