Monbazillac is a French commune in the Dordogne department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. The commune, with 804 inhabitants, is located in the Sud-Bergeracois canton, about ten kilometers south of Bergerac. The inhabitants of the commune are called Monbazillacois / Monbazillacoises. Viticulture represents an important source of income in Monbazillac. The Monbazillac wine region primarily produces white wines and has been allowed to use the designation Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée since May 15, 1936.
