Isbergues is situated about 10 miles northwest of Béthune and 29 miles west of Lille at the junction of the D186, D187 and the D91 roads and by the banks of the Canal d’Aire.
On 1 January 1996, the former communes of Molinghem, Berguette and Isbergues were consolidated into a single commune and took the name of Isbergues.
