It is an old fortified castle. A mainly agricultural village, with dairy and breeding cattle, fruits and cereals.The Town Hall of Montastruc is situated in the middle of the village. It is housed in the old fortified structure of the castle.The city council is headed by a mayor, assisted by two deputy mayors and eight council members.
