Gindou is a southern French commune with 336 inhabitants in the Lot department in the Occitanie region. The commune belongs to the Gourdon arrondissement and the Gourdon canton. Gindou is located about 25 kilometers northwest of Cahors in the Quercy region - more precisely in the Bouriane - in the heart of the black Périgord. Gindou is surrounded by the neighboring communes of Salviac to the north, Dégagnac to the northeast, Rampoux and Lavercantière to the east, Thédirac to the southeast, Montgesty to the south and southeast, Les Arques to the south and southwest, Montcléra to the west, and Cazals to the west and northwest.
