Rimont is a French municipality with 529 inhabitants in the Ariège department in the Occitanie region; it belongs to the Saint-Girons arrondissement, the Couserans-Pyrénées community association, and the Couserans Est canton. The inhabitants are called Rimontais/Rimontaises. Rimont is located about 69 kilometers south-southwest of the city of Toulouse in the western part of the Ariège department. The municipality consists of the village of Rimont, some hamlets and scattered settlements, as well as individual farms. The village is situated on a hill above the Baup River, which crosses the municipality in a western direction. Rimont is within the Regional Natural Park of Pyrénées Ariégeoises. Large parts of the municipality are mountainous and forested. In terms of transport, the municipality is located on the D117.
