Bougarber is a French commune in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department with 844 inhabitants in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region. Administratively, it is assigned to the canton of Artix et Pays de Soubestre and the Pau arrondissement. The inhabitants are called Bougarbersiens. Bougarber lies at the foot of the Pyrenees, approximately 14 kilometers northwest of Pau in the Béarn wine-growing region. Bougarber is surrounded by neighboring communes: Viellenave-d’Arthez to the north, Uzein to the east, Poey-de-Lescar and Beyrie-en-Béarn to the south, Denguin to the west and southwest, and Cescau to the west and northwest. Along the eastern edge of the commune runs the A65 motorway.
