Marre is a French commune with 162 inhabitants in the Meuse department in the Grand Est region. The commune belongs to the Verdun arrondissement, to the Clermont-en-Argonne canton and to the Argonne-Meuse intercommunal association. The inhabitants are called Marrois. Marre is located about twelve kilometers northwest of Verdun and is bordered to the north by the Meuse river. Marre is surrounded by the neighboring communes of Champneuville to the north and northeast, Charny-sur-Meuse to the east, Thierville-sur-Meuse to the southeast, Fromeréville-les-Vallons to the south, Montzéville to the southwest and west, and Chattancourt to the west and northwest.
