Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne is a French municipality with 1,652 inhabitants in the Mayenne department in the Pays de la Loire region; it belongs to the Laval arrondissement and the Saint-Berthevin canton. The inhabitants are called Saint-Jeannais. Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne is located about six kilometers north of Laval on the Mayenne, into which the Ernée flows. Saint-Jean-sur-Mayenne is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Andouillé to the north and northwest, Montflours to the north and northeast, Sacé to the northeast, Louverné to the east, Changé to the south, and Saint-Germain-le-Fouilloux to the west.
