This non-profit organization was established this year by Luc and Annick Deprez-Clabau who have been keeping track of everything related to Abele and its surroundings for several years: photos, postcards, documents, objects. The non-profit aims to preserve, manage, and expand all of this.

exhibition: ...just before going to sleep
The Pensionaat will showcase the former chambrettes of the school in Nieuwkerke for the first time on Heritage Day. One side of the hall exudes authenticity, while the other side is fake. Here, the chambrettes are furnished and used as a children's room, art or photo gallery, a bridal chamber, a retro teenage room.

exhibition: A clear view on ...
Do you recognize our village? In and around the arranged chambrettes, we exhibit some altered village and regional landscapes. Can you really distinguish between real and fake? With a clear view, you'll get there... But be careful, don't always trust your memory!

exhibition: Stage fright
Once, Abele had a theater association, the 'Société Théâtrale les Abéelois Réunis'. The Pensionaat displays photos of performances from 1950 and 1951 including 'Mon Oncle et mon Curé' and 'De Grauwe Meeuw'. It points out the techniques used in theater to deceive the audience.
