The tower, dating from the 12th century, is actually the medieval keep of the castrum. Square in plan, 21.50 meters high, it has five levels and features a unique bossed masonry in the region.
At the foot of the tower, the remains of the seigniorial residence belonging to the noble consuls of Garde-Guérin are visible. It is not of medieval origin as it is not listed in the vidimus of 1364. It is dated to the 16th century but was destroyed by a fire in 1722.
