Le Bourg-d'Oisans

Bourg d'Oisans is centrally located in a highland plain behind an ancient lake, which joined the six valleys of the Oisans. The village is crossed by the Romanche, a few kilometers downstream of the gorge Infernet. The plain of Bourg d'Oisans is bordered to the north by the Massif des Grandes Rousses and in teh south by the Pelvoux massif. The geological structures of the valley from Bourg d'Oisans are very visible (folds, thrusts, normal faults), the mineralogy is rich and varied.
