Montignac is a municipality in the French department of Dordogne (region of Aquitaine) and has a population of 3,023 (1999). The town is part of the arrondissement of Sarlat-la-Canéda. In Montignac, one can find the famous Lascaux cave. The old town is located on the banks of the Vézère.
