La Guillermie is a municipality in the French department of Allier and has 159 inhabitants. The place is part of the Vichy arrondissement. It is a small municipality where, like many other small municipalities in France, there was a significant outflow of young people after 1960, who went to school in larger towns and never returned to settle in the village. In the meantime, La Guillermie is being 'rediscovered' and new constructions are taking place here and there, while old houses are being restored/renovated. La Guillermie is located in the midst of forests but is easily accessible, including by public transport. Nearby are the towns of Ferrières-sur-Sichon, Le Mayet-de-Montagne, and a bit further away are Vichy and Clermont-Ferrand. La Guillermie has a small church, a school building, about 75 to 100 houses, a small bar/restaurant, and a campsite.
