Mauperthuis ) is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France.The village is famous for having produced five Musketeers including d'Artagnan, who was made famous in Alexandre Dumas, père's books. The ruined Château d'Artagnan still exists. Much of the land once belonged to the Montesquieu Family.
