Château de Monthuchet

The Château de Monthuchet is located in the municipality of Saulx-les-Chartreux, in the heart of the former province of Hurepoix, on the right bank of the Yvette River, in the French department of Essonne and the Île-de-France region, nineteen kilometers southwest of Paris.
The Château de Monthuchet is situated close to the town center of Saulx-les-Chartreux in the natural region of Hurepoix. Built below the Rocher de Saulx forest, in an agricultural plain, its park is crossed from south to north by the Chauffour stream, a tributary of the Yvette River below. The main building is set in the center of a vast walled park covering seven hectares, planted with common trees and crossed by a lawn from east to west. An ornamental pond of one hectare, fed by the stream, has been excavated at the northern limit of the park, and a vegetable garden is cultivated behind the outbuildings near the north entrance gate.
