A genuine living area, the Soulages Museum is an UNUSUAL space.
Thanks to its architecture, the museum is unique. At the heart of a totally renovated park, it is recognisable by its powerful monolithic volumes clad in dark red Corten steel.
The museum's cultural and scientific project is totally innovative since, following the artist's wishes, "it highlights the process of artistic creation, the role played by the unexpected in research and, while avoiding a banal educational approach, it strives to open people's eyes, to awaken their spirit about what artistic creation is in general." (Pierre SOULAGES)
Lastly, a vast temporary exhibition room hosts modern and contemporary art events with a national or international scope.
We will say no more... except that the Soulages Museum provides visitors with a rich reading library, a workshop for children, an 80-seat auditorium, a shop, and an app.
