Châtillon-sur-Seine aerodrome is a civil aerodrome, open to public air traffic, located 1.5 km south-southeast of Châtillon-sur-Seine in the Côte-d'Or department. In 1913, an aeroplane station was created in Châtillon-sur-Seine at a place called "Bec à vent" thanks to the support of Louis Cailletet, a native of Châtillon and president of the Aéro-Club de France.In 1918, during the First World War, the American Flying Corps created the current field. It was the observation squadron base, training ground and reserve in the rear of the Eastern Front.
