Église Saint-Martin d'Amagne

The church of Saint Martin d?Amagne is the only ancient building in the commune. The diversity of its architecture, the richness of its sculptures and decorations, both inside and out, make it a remarkable and singular monument, a veritable work of art. The choir is the oldest part of this church, which dates back to the early Gothic period, with its leafy and hooked capitals, the segmental arches lining the window arches, and the two ringed columns supporting the ogives. The nave has a light barrel vault. Like the nave, the aisles, whose ogives rest on armorial or human-figure brackets, and the east-south section date from the end of the 15th century.the flamboyant-style west portal is surmounted by a beautiful rose that lightens the high gable of the roof.to the north of the choir is a Renaissance chapel with classical supports and ogives, covered externally by a gabled roof (1556). Furnishings: three white marble and stucco altars around the choir. Funerary monument dating from 1628 against the south exterior wall.
