This cemetery, established in 1920, is located within the enclosure of the French necropolis of Soupir, and shelters 11,089 bodies of German soldiers who fell in the area between Soissons and Reims during the years 1914, 1917 and 1918. It should be noted that this place was the site of a French military hospital during the First World War, and that it is located not far from the gates of the old castle of the commune, which was used for a time as headquarters by General Pétain.
