Orschwiller

Travel through the vineyards of the Alsace Wine Route and discover Orschwiller, home to the unmissable Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg, which proudly overlooks the town.
Built in the 12th century and restored in the 15th, this remarkable fortified castle is a place full of legends and history. The view over the Alsace plain and the Black Forest is unique.

The church of Saint-Maurice completes its heritage. Visible from afar with its long white façade, the church stands out clearly against the wooded slope of the Langenberg massif.
Designed by the architect Christiani, this late 18th-century neo-classical building features a bell tower, a single nave and a recessed polygonal choir, in accordance with the usual layout of the period.
On the small promontory behind the church, an orientation table allows you to discover an exceptional landscape.
The building was listed as a historic monument in 1986, then classified as a historic monument in 1987.
The listed organ was restored in 1988, following a fire in the church.

Orschwiller also boasts several wineries offering cellar tours and tastings. Ask to taste the vintages from the Haut-Koenigsbourg terroir, including the Grand Cru Praelatenberg, a local pride and joy.
