A wine-growing commune located on the Route des Vins at an altitude of 250 m, it currently has 1080 inhabitants. Ribeauvillé is 9 km away and Riquewihr is 11 km away. Numerous local shops allow easy provisioning. There are hotels, restaurants, as well as bed and breakfasts and furnished apartments.
Local wine growers offer cellar visits with tasting. This town is also known for its Pinot Noir, the 'Rouge de Saint-Hippolyte'.
At the foot of the Haut-Koenigsbourg, this very typical and beautifully flowered village is the ideal place to stay to discover the surrounding tourist sites.

The Gothic church of the 16th and 15th centuries, the remains of the ramparts, the fountain of the 16th century.
Numerous festivals in July and August.
