The Porte de Nevers or Porte de Bas, dated from the 16th century, is a high construction with a pointed brick gable, the sandstone and pebbles at its base are of older origin. Above the entrance, one can see the two bays that allowed the passage of chains to go up the drawbridge. Above, there is a coat of arms bearing the arms of the Duke of Gonzaga-Nevers, surmounted by the motto "fides" which was for a long time that of the city, in memory of the participation of the communal militia in the battle of Bouvines (1214). The windows of the apartment, occupied by the current presbytery, was the former guardhouse. Under the vault, the traces of grooves guess the passage of the portcullis.
