La Porte de Nevers o Porte de Bas, risalente al XVI secolo, è una costruzione alta con un frontone a punta in mattoni, mentre l'arenaria e i ciottoli alla base sono di origine più antica. Sopra l'ingresso si trovano le due campate in cui passavano le catene per sollevare il ponte levatoio. Sopra di esso si trova uno stemma con le armi del duca di Gonzaga-Nevers, sormontato dal motto "fides", che per lungo tempo è stato il motto della città, in ricordo della partecipazione delle milizie comunali alla battaglia di Bouvines (1214). Le finestre dell'appartamento, occupato dall'attuale presbiterio, erano l'antico corpo di guardia. Sotto la volta, le tracce di scanalature indicano il passaggio della saracinesca.
