350 metres from Place Pey-Berland and Saint-André Cathedral, the Museum of Aquitaine occupies the premises of the former Faculty of Letters and Sciences, built at the end of the 19th century on the site of the Feuillants convent where Michel de Montaigne was buried in 1592. It presents the history of Bordeaux and its region, from prehistory to the 21st century. Comprising approximately 700,000 items, its collections are divided into three main areas: archaeology, history and ethnography. The Musée d'Aquitaine accompanies your discoveries through temporary exhibitions, thematic workshops and, by appointment, guided tours.
