This doorway is flanked by two pepperboxes topped by a conical roof.
They are illuminated by windows, the left-hand one of which has three-lobed counter-curved mullions.
The site of the former carriage gate is visible, although it is now walled in.
The Vermoise estate was purchased in 1571 by Guillemette Pinette, widow of Nicolas 1 Coiffart, then in 1651 and 1656 by Louis Huez, Councillor at the Baillage and Presidential Seat of Troyes.
The remainder of the château, the Pavillon de la Charme, was remodeled in the mid-18th century by Nicolas Huez, Lieutenant particulier au baillage.
He is also responsible for the park's beautiful avenue of lime trees.
Château de Vermoise was listed as a historic monument in 1977.
The Domaine de Vermoise only opens the doors of its 18th-century barn for your private or business functions.
