Located in the former military bakery, built in the 18th century, the Museum of Enamels and Earthenware of Longwy presents the most prestigious creations of the city's factories. They are organized into two main groups: earthenware, produced from 1798, and enamels, which appeared at the beginning of the 1870s. For the former, in addition to the utilitarian services that made the reputation of the Faïencerie, you will find decorative works of the 19th and 20th centuries (sculptures, majolica, barbotines). The collections of enamels on earthenware will allow you to appreciate the richness and complexity of this unique know-how in the world. Thanks to these works, you will discover the links that united Longwy to the main European artistic currents, from the 1870s to the present day, and the way this heritage is kept alive
The Museum also holds works by the sculptor Jean-Paul Aubé (Longwy, 1837 ? Capbreton, 1916) and the painter Paul Georges Klein (Longwy, 1909 ? Arles, 1994).
