This is the church with the richest paintings in Bazadais. The entrance door, restored in 1999, dates back to the time of Henry IV, as does the grain chest right at the entrance. The chest received donations and taxes.
Although the church is Romanesque, the two sides are Gothic. As you move forward, you discover the holy table made of Pyrenean marble, also listed and restored in 1997. The altar dedicated to the Virgin, restored in 1999, is also classified, and the paintings are exactly the same as they were originally.
The central altarpiece is an admirable treasure of quality in every respect. Above this altarpiece, paintings from the 12th century were discovered during the restoration in 97/98, hidden under a layer of plaster. These partly concealed paintings represent God the Father blessing, holding a disk depicting the world, with the evangelists represented by their animals around them.
