The present-day appearance of Magnant?s Saint-Julien church is the result of several building campaigns.
All that remains of the original Romanesque building is the porch, with its semicircular portal surrounded by two geminated bays with paired colonnettes, one behind the other. The shaft of one column is polygonal, while the other two are cylindrical. The choir, ending in a cross-aisled apse, and the two-vessel transept were built in the 16th century. They are covered with lierne and tierceron vaults. In each arm of the transept, one of the windows, larger than those in the rest of the building, is decorated with a fleur-de-lis motif. An extensive collection of stained glass windows, now grouped in nine windows, bears witness to this construction campaign. The dates 1542 and 1543 can still be read on several panels, but others may date back to the early 1530's. All are listed as Monuments Historiques. The nave, with its simple ceiling, replaced the Romanesque nave in the 17th century. To the south, it features an attractive basket-handle side door protected by a canopy, framed by tall pilasters and decorated with a key carved in the shape of a diamond. A slate-covered frame bell tower was added to the south arm of the transept, probably in the 19th century.
