Those of landscape painters discovering the Creuse Valley with their easels and paint tubes... that of their encounters and their life at the inn... that of their pictorial research... and those thousands of works, testimonies of the diversity of their talent and the evolution of styles over time...
To find rooms at the Hôtel Lépinat, you had to come in the era of the Impressionists. Today, this former inn has been transformed into a Heritage Interpretation Center and an exhibition traces the history of painters from the Creuse Valley who stayed here between 1830 and 1930. From Armand GUILLAUMIN, the first of the Impressionists, to Francis PICABIA, discover the history of this landscape painted by nearly 500 artists. You will also find a bookstore and an information point on site.
