Cimetière israélite

The creation of the Jewish cemetery dates back to 1720 and the first known rabbi in Frauenberg-Bliesbrück is mentioned in 1725. The Frauenberg Jewish Cemetery is one of the few Jewish cemeteries that have never experienced a body burial interruption. It is assumed that it was founded in 1740 and was used at that time for the burial of Jews from the community, but also from the Blies valley and Sarreguemines before the foundation of its own cemetery in 1899. The Frauenberg synagogue was destroyed by the Nazis in 1940. Today, most of the stelae are very worn and many have probably already disappeared underground.
