Just a few hundred metres from Falkenstein, Rothenburg Castle has only a few remains
It is not known when it was built. In 1353, the castle is mentioned as part of the County of Bitche
A few years later, Rothenburg Castle became a stronghold of knight-brigands and was ravaged by the Strasbourg militia. In the 16th century, it is described as follows: "an old little castle in ruins."
It will remain so.
